Utah Jazz trade:
Alperen Sengun $3.9m (2025) RFA

In a corresponding move, please send Jared Butler $0.5m (2024) to the G-League to clear cap space to add Sengun on the active roster for New York Knicks.

Sengun drew a lot of interest pretty much since I drafted, with several other intriguing offers I've considered. I've been hesitant to move until now as he's still raw and think will eventually develop into a very good big. However, I'm also a Levert fan and with full salary paid deal made sense and helps more immediately. Coming back from injury a little bit slower start, but as long as he can stay healthly going forward I expect a nice upstick in production.

New York Knicks make this trade as we think Sengun can be a very special player. LeVert is great when he plays, but has struggled to stay healthy. The Knicks were faced with a potential choice between extending NAW and LeVert after next year and may not have had enough cap space for both. This clears up that issue and gains another player on a small contract for two years after LeVert would need to be extended, most likely at another high contract. If extending LeVert after this year and using last years ranking it would be $15M to extend, which is a lot for a guy with his injury history. Thanks, Vik, for the trade talks.
