Trade review
« on: November 06, 2011, 11:42:12 AM »
I was looking through some of my trades from the preseason.  So far I'm pretty happy with the moves I made.  I still go back and forth on if dealing Rask was the right move.  Time will only tell if that was a horrible deal for me or not.  I forgot that I got Kyle Quincy, who I didn't think was even going to play, for free:  http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=29548.0

Sorry Jared!   :toast:

How about you guys?  There was a ton of player movement early on, how have your roster changes helped or hurt you?

Alright my move for stewart is not looking so good now as stewart has only scored in 2 games, but ok with my team. But lots of injuries

I'm really glad I got rid of Steve Mason, especially after I drafted him so high, sorry Cubs. I'm hoping my trade for Connolly works out, Kessel and Lopul are doing great and I need him to play with them and stay healthy. He's so fragile.

Boston receives
RW Corey Perry, $5.3m (2012-2013)
C Mike Richards, $5.8m (2018-2019)
Round 5 pick

Other team receives
C/RW Tyler Seguin, $3.6m (2012-2013)
C Rich Peverley, $1.3m (2011-2012)
D Tomas Kaberle, $4.7m (2011-2012)
G Jean-Sebastien Giguere, $1.8m (2011-2012)
Round 1 pick
Round 4 pick

This is a combination of the two trades I made, first dealing Rask then getting him back.  The player that was selected with the 1st round pick I traded was Ryan Callahan.  So I virtually gave up Seguin and Callahan for Perry and Richards.  I think I like where I ended up after all this.

I traded down in the draft and took a TON of top prospects (I've got Scheifele, Oleksiak, Noesen - just to name a few). So in 2-3 years I should be pretty good!

I regret taking Niklas Backstrom so early in the contraction draft, though. Looks like I overestimated his impact on my team - Josh Harding is about to take his job and I'm stuck with his 6 mill salary for this year and next!
