Another Yanks extension

would like to lock up Neftali Feliz now as we believe he will become a VERY good starter.
2010= #47 RP
2011= #131 RP
The #47 RP is due $1.5 mil with his Spec contract it give me 50% off rounded up to
$1 Mil (2015)

If there are any mistakes here let me know this is my first Spec extension

Prospect extensions always have a length of 5 years.  So he would be a $4M 2017 deal.  Or you could sign him using a regular extension and sign him to a $1.5M 2015 deal.

any new contract signed takes over from the current contract at the start of the next year, so if you do sign him to a 3 year deal, then his spec contract is voided starting next year.

Is that only on spec deals cause other deals take effect after the current deal is up

He is a P-2013...so if the contract started next season you could sign him for an additional 2 years at 1.5 mil. A contract at 1.5 mil can be at the maximum of 3 years. Not all contracts pick up at the end of a contract, they still have to stay within the guidelines of the maximum amount of years, which are listed in the rule book. No player will ever have a contract longer than 5 years unless it was inherited from a real life contract when the league first started.

So it would be (@1.5 mil)

1.5 - 2014
1.5 - 2015
