Detroit makes this deal because we have a lot of LWs but our goal this off-season has been to increase the production from our defense. We like Trouba as a player and hope he breaks his nasty habit of missing nearly 20 games almost every year. I also like getting a couple of extra picks in this draft. I've got a lot of players on my draft board and I think even these late round picks will be beneficial for us.

JVR is an awesome player on any roster. He'll post big points with Giroux, Voracek, Couturier, Simmonds, Ghost, and Provorov as the support cast. Trouba is 5 yrs younger and those picks make this deal look good on the Island.
