We make this move to add much needed CI help which cost us last year in playoffs.

I'm excited about the trade I'm gettng a young pitcher in Greene for years to come I'm also getting a  rp in Nate if healthy I see him being closer for whitesox. I'm a big fan of O'Connor I feel he will move quickly threw minors.

I really don't understand the rationale of this trade.  The Indians are getting a low end SP in Greene, a RP coming off Tommy John surgery in Jones, and a waiver wire SP in Slowey--and they have to pay $2.5m in 2015 in a cash exchange for Sandoval's contract.  Getting O'Connor is the best part of the deal, but I can't see how this trade can be seen as anything more than giving away a highly productive CI.

I know the Indians need cap space, but I can't even justify this trade as a salary dump since the money involved is even up.

I have to agree with Flash on this one.  Greene, O'Connor, and another decent prospect or young player without the money paid would be easier to approve.

I agree.  A bigger return is necessary for a productive, cheap CI.
