Franchise NHL / Re: Franchise NHL - Questions Section
« on: April 21, 2017, 01:28:24 PM »
Just confirming we can resign contacts in final year prior to the expansion draft/end of 16-17 year. I'm sitting on a few resignings for savings, was thinking I can only do contracts ending 17'

Example:

Jonas Brodin, $1.7m (2015-2018)
Resign
Jonas Brodin, $1.4m (2017-2020)

Thanks Boss, that makes sense I wouldn't get to use the extra space.

One more question since I see Parayko on the Exempt list for the expansion draft.

Is JH also exempt?  John Gaudreau, $0.2m (2014-2017-EL)

Colorado Extends the following Expiring Contracts:

Griffin Reinhart, $0.2m (2015-2017) 15-16 #215 = $0.6M
Jimmy Vesey, $0.2m (2015-2017) 16-17 #107 =  $0.5M
John Gaudreau, $0.2m (2014-2017-EL) 15-16 #11 = $6.6M
Nikolaj Ehlers, $0.2m (2015-2017) 16-17 #23 =  $4.8M
Tyler Seguin, $7.2m (2013-2017) 16-17 #3 = $8.3M
Evgeni Malkin, $5.1m (2014-2017) 16-17 #12 = $7.1M
Henrik Lundqvist, $6.2m (2013-2017) 15-16 #2 =  $13.5M

Colorado 17-18 Salary is Currently greater than the cap of $73.0M but less than $80.3M (+10%) w/ carrying ABO value on Krejci. I expect to Colorado salaries will fit within new cap at $75.0M after BO discount, Restructure Final Year Contracts, and Franchise Tag Application.

Hope this helps those who were worried about me monies.

Colorado Buy Outs:

Karl Alzner, $2.3m (2015-2018) - 1yr B/O = $3.0m

Expiring Player Contracts for 16-17 that will NOT be Tendered as New Contracts:

Ales Hemsky, $1.2m (2015-2017)
Trevor Van Riemsdyk, $0.2m (2015-2017)
Deryk Engelland, $1.0m (2015-2017)
Ron Hainsey, $1.6m (2014-2017)

If this helps with roster management or transparency these Colorado players are not being invited back.

I believe that answers it; but just so I'm certain on this before I make some decisions... let's pretend I believe Karl cost me the cup and I over react and want to can him...

Karl Alzner, $2.3m (2015-2018)

2/3 at 2 seasons equals 3.2m for 1 yr BO

All this goes against 16-17?  Would I face a penalty for exceeding $73m or $80.3m?

One year BO of a contract through 2015-2018 goes against which seasons salary? 16-17 or 17-18

Post Cup Final April into June.

If 16-17, Do I have to stay under the original salary or the extended salary.

My confusion lies with recent posts indicating this is still 16-17 calendar.

Colorado Available

Krejci still there are n my block, wouldn't take a lot to get him.... Even a late round pick. Take advantage of that 110% salary before expansion.

Possibly thin year in FA.

Let's get you taken care of.

Cheers

  • Jwalkerjr88: It was dallas. I think he missed the playoffs that year. Then used the draft picks on the 2021 class. Every pick was the 32nd pick (dont remembee what the other 1st became)
  • Jwalkerjr88: Idk if anyone remembers the 2021 class but it was weak on offense outside or the top 10-15. I dont regret the deal just learned and move on. As long as you have assets, you can mold your build how you want. Picks are usually the most valuable asset because most gms want in on a draft.
