Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Re: NHL Chatter: Playoffs in 2-8 cities

This idea might have more legs now that more time and the spread of the virus has played out a little more.

Franchise NHL / Re: DISCUSSION: FNHL Season pauses, maybe cancelled- What can we do?« on: April 16, 2020, 11:34:34 PM »
I'm starting to think the NHL might resume in late Summer and play games in neutral sites in a tournament style format. At least to conclude the 2019-20 season.
Then for the 2020-21 season, I'm guessing the NHL will start in November and play a shortened season with limited capacity in arenas. That's what I'm guessing given how things have been playing out both in the US and what I notice in Canada. 63

It's a joke in Miami. Construction sites are open and there's a lack of physical distancing. Makes me sick to see.

Franchise NHL / Re: OPTION 1: FNHL PLAYOFFS PARALLEL LEAGUE 2020-21 (4wks)« on: March 26, 2020, 11:27:36 AM »
I'm in.
I doubt the NHL and PA will let contracts expire in June the was they should. If they pick up the season where they left off, the league and PA will get agreement on a special extension to expiring contracts and player Visas will need working out but that's for paid owners and paid GMs to figure out. As long as we can carry over the FNHL setup to the parallel league and the schedule is standard and not skewed in fav of anyone, I'm all in even if there's a cost to be paid from the prize pool. This gives us closure for the season. Of course all bets are off if the NHL cuts the regular season short and jumps right into some rejigged playoff format. 65

There's chatter that the NHL could let all teams end the "regular season" with 71 games played and start the Playoffs immediately.
If that scenario plays out, our FNHL playoffs would not work. Perhaps a suggestion would be to repurpose the remainder of the 2019-20 FNHL playoffs and plug it into the start of the 2020-21 NHL season's schedule. Just a suggestion. 66

Some locals say schools will be closed until end of May or early June. Many were closed a few days ago which took too long in Fla.

Anyone seen the vid clips of Spring Breaks in Daytona Beach FL? There’s a pandemic due to a communicable illness spreading fast and the university kids are out partying in droves.

That $8 million Johnny Boychuk contract looks like a giant anchor to me. Was that from a FA bidding war or an expensive contract extension.
