Like many of you i watch a lot of hockey, my fiance would say an absurd amount. With in an hour of my house i have 3 AHL teams, 1 USHL, and 1 NAHL team. The last two i have been to often in the last 2 years. I take notes, I've been asked who I'm a scout for. I get odd looks when i explain the FNHL deal. Any way i was curious if you all go on analytics or the old school eye test. My self I'm old school, I've been off on some playere but spot on with others. I get analytics in baseball but not in this great game.
I use my eyes for sure, after that my stupidity usually takes over. I like analytics and nerd analysis more for baseball because a hitter is relying on no one but himself at the plate. Hockey players must be paired up right and depend on others to make plays and create chances. So eyes for me.

Tampa sends: Alec Martinez, $6.7m (2016-2020) 2018 draft picks 1, 2, 3, 4
Minny sends: Victor Hedman, $6.3m (2015-2019)
Tampa will look to use its 2nd franchise tag on Hedman which to us is worth the picks.
With our luck, Hedman will be traded or executed by beheading before the trade is finalized but a deals a deal.

And then a bunch of teams have no starter or no active NHL goalie on their roster. "Been there. Done that" debate gents.
The expansion draft rules were almost too straight fwd and simple from the get go.
Reducing the number of picks might be a good idea. Reduce by 3, 4, 5. Let's see after PR confirms.
With all do respect, just because you made a call, doesn't mean it was the right call. Fortunately there is time to tweak a few things in the interests of fairness. One thing Vegas would like to see is the exempt list gone. That list does us absolutely no good, the only list that would help the draft process run smoother is the "exposure list". Who is exempt, does nothing. I've made a few suggestions in the past, some have helped the league, some were dismissed, it's all good either way. Love the league and will continue trying to suggest ways to improve it.

No such dreams in only thoughts of what might have been if the season had played out differently. Looking for bigger and better things next season.

There is simply no way we have the manpower to review that many rules for each team. We simplified FNHL Expansion Draft rules to ensure an exciting experience without needing lawyers. Any team that could pick 3 active goalies off other teams would 1) have a totally unfair advantage and 2) hurt those franchises in the process.
Will discuss the 25 player vs 30 player expansion draft rule. Might not be a bad idea.
I disagree on the unfair advantage as there are teams with 3 Goalies and even 4 goalies active on rosters as we speak. Also because of the nature of how we construct rosters in FNHL with the hard cap, having 3 Goalies means paying 3 Goalies as young controllable goalies will be exempt. Without making too much of a stink, unless Vegas is allowed to draft 3 Goalies (like the real club) there is simply no way we should be held to drafting 30 players. Honestly, it feels like some are scared to death and convinced the mods to tweak the rules all slanted to disadvantages. I have to speak up for myself, no one else will pound the table for us. I would prefer drafting 30 with 3 Goalies giving us more ammo for trades. Just like the real club. But if not...25 with 2 Goalies is more fair. Keep in mind the avg salary would have to be about $2.5m per player to fit the cap. Most teams will expose players making much more than that. This has to be a fair process.

And of post dated trades. Understanding it can't be completed till the offseason begins, shouldn't deter the ability to come to terms and post it up.

Gents, I goofed on the Playoff schedule when I set up the 2016-17 season and only allowed for a 1wk FNHL Finals instead of the traditional 2 week showcase of our Top 2 franchises.
I'll discuss with PR to see what's best course of action.
I need a drink!
I never understood how the entire season could be based on 1 week matchups and yet it's most important week, championship week would be different than what we base the league off of all year. If every matchup were 2 weeks, the standings would look very different. Since I've never been in the final, this has never affected me directly, but if I ever get there and had the lead after the first week but lost....for all that $$$ THAT WOULD BE A TOUGH PILL TO SWALLOW BOYZ.

Not sure we follow these exposure rules given our fantasy format and how FNHL teams have 30 player roster.
About that... We are following some expansion rules to the letter, and others are tweaked. The rules being tweaked like the drafting of 3 goalies and now perhaps exposure, I would argue are not in Vegas favor. Other rules, such as drafting a player off each team are being imported 100% authentic. Also I would argue not in the favor of Vegas. My thinking.. The real VGK has to draft from every team but in doing so gets to draft 3 Goalies. If we can't draft 3 Goalies, why force us to draft the same number of players? I think we go authentic NHL Rules or we tweak them all to be fair. If no 3 Goalies then a 25 team draft leaving 5 teams of my choosing off my list. Tampa perhaps included in the 5. If we are "looking out" for FNHL ownership by tweaking the rules a bit, then we should "look out" for Vegas as well to be fair.
