I like the Defensemen in this crop. It's not a bad draft at all, just not a franchise type at the top.

There are about 5 or 6 guys that could turnout to be good players but there's no one really elite in this draft. In my opinion Nico Hischier is on the same tier as Nolan Patrick. Not sure who Carolina would choose if the draft was today.
it's also supposed to be a deep draft for goalies but that's always a crap shoot.
There doesn't appear to be the franchise type, like McDavid, Matthews, etc. but it is supposed to be deep with A- to B+ types all thru out the top 20. Agreed, there is no telling who Carolina might take, but they did draft Aho, so the scouting may know what they are doing. All the Goalies are supposed to be promising, but it takes a while for Goalies drafted high to be trusted at the NHL level.

I guess I'm like Jagr NUMBER 2 overall. At leadt in terms of oldest FNHL owners now that Papps has retired. Impressive to see what PR has done since bailing the league out when a couple of fly by night types left the league hanging. Then PPG took it to another level. 
PPG sent me a PM out of nowhere. I didn't even know him back then at all. Told me the "smartest guys" were in FNHL, and it took me almost 2 years to join. Looking back, I wished I had joined immediately, I would be further ahead in my strategy to win the chip. After 3 full seasons (or 4..it's tough to remember) I'm all in. This is the most stable and enjoyable dynasty format league I am in. A nice get away from RL issues and destraction from work, kids, etc.

hey no problem, I've been looking at the teams. Also some of the lists that have been put up, you have some home work to do my friend. I would suggest (if there isn't already) a deadline to submit protected lists.
Ive done a lot of the footwork but trades change the landscape. Its still too far away to have a true gauge no matter what I did now. Just going to sit back and let the season play out and put a final plan together at that time. After the reg season, we will see what needs to be seen.

Your TB team is locked into a 1st round matchup with the Rangers, right now. Possibly the penguins.
If you do good and pass Detroit, it gets much worse. Then you play Boston.
Eh, we are no threat. Tampa would be happy to get in, no matter who we play doesn't matter. I want the highest seed we can get and build on our finish for next season. To win it all, you have to be good, plus lucky, plus healthy. There are no easy outs in the East. Really good teams will be one and done.

#2 in Pacific plays #3 in Pacific round 1.

If they were in Pacific different story, but not in Central. They're chasing much better teams in Colorado and Dallas. No chance this year.
Chit, I forgot the format won't allow the top 8 because it allows the top 3 in each division. Crazy that the 5 & 6 seeds will be basically cake walks for the 3 and 4. Crazy
