With the change in the trade with Brewers the Angels now no longer call up P Taylor Clarke (don’t think I’ll have sufficient funds)
Angels also transfer Shoemaker to 60 day DL Angels no longer demoting Riddle and Garcia as there will be roster space due to the above move/non-moves 415

Angels approve.
Give up my catching depth but the players I can now call up will more than make up for it. Get a decent spec back too. Thanks Vic for helping get this done before the deadline 416

Angels make the following roster moves pending the trades with the Brewers/Reds as those trades will clear the requisite cap/roster room to make these call ups
Angels promote SS Bo Bichette 2B Nicky Lopez 2B Tommy Edman P Glenn Sparkman P Taylor Clarke P Derek Law P AJ Puk Angels remove the following from the 40man roster pending waivers SS JT Riddle P Shane Carle P Adam Warren P Luis Garcia 417

Angels Trade
C Josh Phegley 900K (2019) P Matt Shoemaker 4.125M (2019) 2M in salary coverage towards Shoemakers salary Brewers Trade P Frank Lopez PC Angels do this trade to clear some salary cap space in order to call up players for the playoffs. Losing the catcher depth in Phegley will hurt but having the space to call up some of my prospects will more than make up for it. Lopez is filler/18yo lotto ticket but really this trade is just about clearing a bit of cap space. Thanks to Vic for quick negotiations as we both try to get ready for the playoffs 418

Angels Trade
SS Jose Rondon 500K (arb thru 2024) 300K in salary coverage for 2019 Reds Trade OF Alan Mejia PC Angels do this trade to clear just enough salary to call up a player although my trade with Brewers now makes this unnecessary for me. That said, Rondon was going to get pushed out of my squad anyways as I call up more youngsters so I'm happy to get a 18yo lottery ticket for him...better than nothing. Thanks to Brian for quick easy negotiation 419

All of the above players and Carlos Martinez (who also passed through trade waivers) are available in trade. I’m just looking to dump salary, even if you can take on just a couple million while I cover the rest, that’s good enough.
I’m willing to move these players for next to nothing or for some, even consider giving away a bit extra in prospects/intl money if you take on enough of the contract. Great opportunity for rebuilding teams or anybody with a bit of extra cap room! 420

Yeah I’m against that change as well for the reasons above. Part of this leagues original purpose was to mimic real life as much as feasible and teams shouldn’t have easy outs from contracts. Plus, having that option would probably just mean the FA contracts given out would get even crazier.
Some teams spend years trying to cultivate a healthy franchise without cap issues. There shouldn’t be a cheap easy workaround |
