the Angels release the following RPs. Both are on Prospect deals so no cap hit. This clears two roster spots and saves the Angels $1M in cap space.

The Angels and Mets agreed on another trade. The Angels do this to move one of their bats who doesn't fit into their future plans for a MI in Profar who will slide right in as the Angels MI of the future with Correa. We are willing to gamble on Britton keeping up his production and potentially getting us a pick. Edwin Jackson is an affordable SP, who the Angels will try to flip. We do give up Zimmerman, but as I said he is not in our plans and with Abreu/Cecchini we have our CIs. Realmuto got promoted in RL, so I needed to either promote him or trade him and I chose to trade him. Farguhar replaces the production of Britton for the Mets and is locked up cheap on a spec deal. Thanks Corey for the easy negotiations.

Assuming my trade with the Yankees is approved I do the following deal.
Phillies receive:

Angels receive:
SP Kingham, Nick, $0.5m (P-n/a)
Kingham is closer to the show but I think the ceiling of Fried is much higher. Time will only tell if this was a good deal or not.
Angels to confirm.
The Angels confirm. We do this deal to get a pitching spec that fits a particular mold we are building here in LA. There's no doubt about Fried's talent as Papps stated above, for me this was just a preference thing. Thanks for the easy negotiations Papps.

The Angels agree. We were targeting a SP who was dealt to the Phillies, but this works just as good. Lake will fill the same role with the Angels as he is filling for the Cubs in real life. Quality young cheap talent to hold down the fort until the big dogs arrive in 2015 or so. The trade also helps the Angels in another way as it gives then a much needed roster spot. Arencibia will not fly cross country to the City of Angels as his inability to hit can stay away from my young talent. When processing, please release Arencibia which should be a free release since he's on a P deal. Thanks for the negotiations Dan. Good luck this year.

The Angels and Braves have agree on the following trade. The Angels do this trade to add another horse to their stable of starting pitching specs in Hunter Harvey while also adding a hitting spec in Kepler. This deal also clears a roster spot for the Angels which is needed.

The Angels and Cards have agreed on the following trade. The Angels are on a role with the trades. Now they have dealt their other Khris Davis who although is solid, is not in their plans. They also deal Duffy, who is now healthy, but do for a resign which we didn't want to do. Dealing Pelfrey gives us a little cap relief. We gain another strong SP arm in Taylor Jordan and we get our own mountain of a man in Brian Flynn. Tyler Austin gives us a risk/reward type OF who hopefully comes back from his injury and gains he stroke back. Thanks for the easy negotiations Paul.

Rays make this move to help bolster our depleted pitching staff. While we absolutely hate to deal from our catching depth, we feel it was necessary to acquire points in the short term. Rays also make this move gambling on the probability that Tomlin reaches "type A" status this season, essentially hedging our bet somewhat and protecting him should we decide he is a part of our rotation for the future. Angels confirm. The Angels continue to add young talent that are within a year or two of reaching the show. McCann doesn't seem to be the best hitting Catcher, but he looks like a guy who will stick in the bigs because of his defense with solid hitting. That has worked for the Molina clan so potentially having a Catcher that will be a constant behind the plate and solid to decent at the plate was worth it. As I stated in my trade with sCorey and the Mets, since you can't trade draft picks in this league you have to trade for young talent and that is exactly what this trade is.
