Franchise GM: Completed Transactions / Scott Van Slyke, LAD CI Eligibility« on: May 16, 2012, 03:35:28 AM »
In 2011, Scott Van Slyke, LAD, played in 65 games at 1B for the AA Chattanooga Lookouts. He should be elgible as a CI/OF.
After getting Joaquin Arias of SF eligible as a CI, he gets hit on the left wrist and has to leave the game. 14725

Franchise GM: Completed Transactions / CI Eligible?« on: May 15, 2012, 03:11:39 AM »
When will Joaquin Arias, SF be eligible to be a CI? He was declared the starting 3B by manager Bruce Bochy in Pablo Sandoval's absence. He is listed as a SS/3B on Yahoo and only a MI on Fantrax. Could someone let me know when he will be CI eligible?
Thanks! 14727

No, I thought he was still a prospect. I must have looked at the wrong stats.

Franchise GM: GM & Team News / Re: Know your GM« on: May 09, 2012, 01:59:48 PM »
My name is Ernesto Quiroz. I am the GM of the San Francisco Giants. I am a lifelong Giants fan. I have braved the winds of Candlestick Park as a youngster and I took my own kids to see many games. I found the FGM on a web search and happened to see that the Giants needed a GM. Colby approved my application after I told him that I remember going to Candlestick Park and seeing Vada Pinson rob Willie Mays with a diving catch on Bat Day (when they used to give real bats to the kids!)
I am an avid fan of the Giants, the 49ers, and the Golden State Warriors. I live in Goleta, CA (next to Santa Barbara) and in June I will be retiring from the classroom after 34 years as a social studies teacher. I have been in Southern California for the past 10 years, and thanks to DirecTV, I get a chance to follow all my favorite teams. I am currently a Little League coach, and as a Giants fan, I have had to suffer to the ultimate indignation. Three years ago, when I was given a team, I had a choice to be the manager of the Giants or the Dodgers. As a Giants fan, is was a no-brainer, but as a grandpa, I had to think of my grandson. My daughter married a Dodgers fan and my three grand kids are confirmed Dodgers fans. I could not ask him to represent the Giants, so instead, I suffer the humiliation of wearing Dodgers gear two times a week when we play games. Go Giants! 14730
Franchise GM: Completed Transactions / Re: Twins/Giants trade« on: May 08, 2012, 04:18:03 PM »
Giants trade:
CI-OF Lee, Carlos, $6m (2013) X-OF Lee, Carlos, Cash Exchange on Contract through 2012, $-5m in 2012 C Doumit, Ryan, $4m (2013) X-C Doumit, Ryan, Cash Exchange on Contract through 2012, $-3m in 2012 OF Duncan, Shelley, $1m (2012) Twins trade: OF Murphy, David, $2.5m (2012) MI Rhymes, Will, $1.5m (2013) X-MI Rhymes, Will, Cash exchanged on Contract 2012, $-1m in 2012, $-0.5m 2013 This trade gives me a starting OF in David Murphy, which given the Giants propensity to start multiple line-ups, is a premium. With Evan Longoria's injury, Wil Rhymes is getting some consistent playing time as a CI and he fills a team need. I also get to clear a roster space for an impending free agent and I get some cap relief for 2013. I ask the Trade Council to approve this trade. |
