Please remind that the deadline to extend an expiring contract and pick-up 2025 team options is 6/30/24 @ 11:59 PM EST.
The rookie draft will start on 7/6/24

We realize that having two different channels is not always ideal, but the addition of an alternative and parallel chat has greatly stimulated activity in terms of both discussions and trades. The number of trades is growing rapidly with 20 trades already completed this early in the offseason and we are not even close to the rookie draft.
The long-term goal is to try to have all members active on both channels, taking advantage of the best that ProFSL and Discord have to offer and encouraging the use of discussion Board for discussions on key points for the league to avoid duplication.
It may take some time, but we are confident that we can do it. For the time being, the LM and moderators are ensuring that all key league events are duplicated so that all members are aligned

We will take note of your comments and appreciate any constructive feedback.
I repeat that any changes to the FA bidding process will definitely not happen this season (apart from the switch to the Fantrax Forum) and, if not deemed useful by the members, not even next season.
Regarding ProFSL, there is no intention of moving away. We are here to stay, indeed we are relaunching considering that we have already requested in recent days the creation of a dedicated chat for the league on ProFSL. All key activities (trades, rule change proposals, LM announcements) have dedicated threads on ProFSL, simply there are several members who prefer to post comments and often even trades on the Discord chat. But all relevant activity (not individual comments) is then also reported on ProFSL

Thank you for your opinion @Daddy . However it is important to make some clarifications, because some things said do not correspond to reality and therefore fueling them would not be correct. The changes made in the last 2 years are in the direction of adding constraints for the best teams with high salaries (removal of cash exchange, introduction of rising salaries). No complications have been added for the other teams, on the contrary, an attempt has been made to make the league experience more complete, more realistic and to offer alternative and parallel communication channels (Discord). The FA's proposal for change was just intended to simplify in the medium term (once the teams had become familiar with a system that is actually absolutely simple), not to complicate. However, considering that some members did not immediately appreciate or understand the proposal and again having the best interests of the league at heart, we have preferred to postpone any adjustments to the next season. Another clarification, since the league started only 2 vetoes have been placed (my team, by the way, I suffered one of the two), so honestly the use of vetoes has not been abused as it would seem. The residues of the cash exchange, as already widely discussed, are limited this season and will go to zero substantially from next season. What remains and makes some teams better and others worse are 4 years of trades and FA signings in which some teams have moved a lot and others have made no moves or simply made wrong trades. There are teams that in 1-2 years, with some moves on the market, have gone from the bottom of the standings to being contenders (Kings and Pistons for example), so it is totally possible in CCD for a quality GM to transform a bad team into a contender in reasonable time. The quality of CCD GMs is overall good and is getting better every year, new rules applied in the last two year (making more complicated for top teams to improve) will allow good and active GMs to reduce or close any gap. And we are strongly working for improving the league experience and increasing member participation with the goal to have good and active GMs in our league

After the initial discussion on Discord, we realized that the proposal (option 2) did not have the widespread support we were hoping for and, more importantly, was causing too much confusion so close to the start of free agency. As a result, we decided to lock the vote and postpone the poll until later in the season, with the goal of having an adjusted FA bidding system that takes into account rising salaries in place for the 2025/26 season

Please find below a summary of all rule changes approved for 2024/25. No more changes are expected for the current season.
DRAFT PICKS 1. introduction of Stepien Rule. A team cannot be without a own first round pick for more than two consecutive years. Basically, at any given time, a team must have at least 1 own first round pick in the next 3 drafts. This rule will take effect just after the upcoming draft;
2. each trade posted must clarifies if the pick is protected or not;
3. each first round pick traded 3 years out must have a top-5 protection. If the protection kicks-in, the team acquiring the pick would receive the first available first-round pick from the selling team in a subsequent year
FA BIDDING 4. FA bids must now be posted in the Fantrax Forum and no more on the transaction board
5. The duration to win a player in FA will be 24 hours. Basically, in order to avoid too long auctions, you win a player after being the highest bidder for 24 hours
RISING SALARY SYSTEM 6. For rookies, we will use the Rookie Scale starting from the upcoming draft and no more the average. The annual salary over the contract length will not be fixed anymore but will rise accordingly to Rookie Scale.
7. For any contract extensions signed after 2/1/2025, the annual cost of the contract will increase by 3% in year 2, 6% in year 3, 10% in year 4, and 15% in year 5 (all calculated on the year 1 cost, which is determined by the player salary table based on Fantrax rankings). For example, if Kyrie Irving's 2025 expiring contract is extended after 2/1/2025 and Utah decides to grant him a 4-year contract, the annual cost will be $26 million in 2026 (assuming the best ranking is 29), $26.8 million in 2027, $27.6 million in 2028, and $28.6 million in 2029. A contract calculator has been added to the spreadsheet.
For FA contracts, the annual salary will remain fixed over contract length for the current season. We are working on a proposal to align also FA contracts with the new rising salary system but it will be implemented only from the 2025/26 season

The proposal to change the bidding process has not received the widespread support we expected in Discord and, above all, is causing too much confusion. Let's take a step back.
For this season, we will keep the current system based on the total contract value with a fixed salary throughout the contract duration and simply switch from the transaction board to the Fantrax Forum to make FA bids.
We will evaluate for next season possible solutions to incorporate the rising salary system into free agent contracts as well

Starting with the next RFA and FA that will begin in July, bids will have to be made directly on the Fantrax forum and no more in the transactions board. In Fantrax, you have to select 'Other', then 'League Forum'. You can then create a new topic to start an auction for a FA or reply to an open topic if an auction for the player has already started, exactly as has been done so far in the transaction board.
Considering that we just switched to a variable salary system for contracts, we are going to open a vote for the following two options for FA bids on Fantrax forum
1. Keep bids in terms of total contract value (no changes to current offer process except for the switch to Fantrax Forum)
2. Place bids corresponding to year 1 salary with the following salary table: $0.4m-$1m (contract length 2 years) $1.1m - $5.4m (3 years) $5.5m - $9.9m (4 years) $10m and over (5 years). The salary will increase by 3% (year 2), 6% (year 3), 10% (year 4), 15% (year 5). However the team winning the player can decide to reduce the contract length subject to the payment of all the agreed contract. Chris Paul example, Spurs offer $10m and win the player, the standard contract will be $10 2025, $10.3 2026, $10.6m 2027, $11m 2028 and $11.5m 2029 but we can choose to negotiate only a 1 year contract if we have cap space and want to pay Chris Paul 53.4m in 2025. If the team wants to reduce Chris Paul's contract to 3 years for example, to avoid complications, the annual salary for all the contract length will be the total contract value (53.4m) divided by 3 (17.8m). We are also working on a proposal to give to owners the option to frontload contracts.
Please use the poll to vote
