The Mets have agreed to a trade with the White Sox and receive veteran pitcher Johnny Cueto in exchange for minor league outfielder Niko Decolati plus 4th and 5th round picks in the 2023 draft. I'm happy to add El Jucho to the team. He's getting up there in years but I like what he brings. He's a welcome addition to the roster and it's nice to add a starter. The draft picks and Decolati should help replace him. Thanks, to the White Sox for quick dealing near the deadline. -Mets

The Mets have agreed to a trade with the Angels. The Mets send Donovan Solano, Santiago Espinal and a second round pick in 2023 to the Angels for Kyle Muller and Kevin Smith. Muller may provide some starting pitching and is 25 and a former second round pick while Smith plays some shortstop and both have some big league experience. They could end up being some good depth though this was primarily done as a cost cutting move. Thanks again, Angels.

The club also placed right-hander Michael Grove on the 15-day injured list due to lat tightness. In corresponding moves, the club has recalled right-hander J.P. Feyereisen and selected the contract of right-hander Michael Petersen. To make room for Petersen on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers transferred right-hander Joe Kelly to the 60-day injured list.
