Tough to trade Staal, definitely the best player in the trade. But the Pens are good at center, and Beaulieu helps continue our summer of improving the blueline. We also like Leipsic as a sleeper.

Plus, I think I get a set of steak knives for being the 20th owner to trade Fucale.

Pens need to improve our blueline. We like Johnson's points-per-game, even on a bad Colorado team, and we're counting on him staying healthy this season. If he gets traded, even better. Or maybe Sakic can turn around the Avalanche.

We also like the depth Dumoulin brings still on his EL contract. Both contracts work within our cap structure and will help us not be stupid (or at least as stupid) during free agency.

The 1st rounder is steep, but we're still in win now mode. The Canes are quickly building and hopefully these pieces help them on their journey. They also take our bad Lupul contract (speaking of stupid fa signings), but they can easily ditch that this summer if they so choose.

Greiss came up big for the Pens last season, but we just can't pass up on Malkin. Dell is thrown in, since the 'Lanche are stockpiling goalies. With Fleury gambling in Vegas, the Pens lost one of our significant hometown discounts ... now we've got the best one-two punch down the middle with Crosby and Malkin at hometown rates. And with Fleury also back to assuming a #1 role again, Greiss is no longer a necessity.

We wish Greiss all the best and to continue to prosper in Brooklyn ... that is where the Islanders are still playing their home games, right?
