Franchise GM / Sending players to the minors
« on: October 16, 2023, 05:27:55 PM »
A reminder about minor league transactions:

  • A posting must be made to send a player to the minors
  • The player must be on a P contract

Once the post is made to the boards, a moderator will handle the transaction.

Thanks!

Franchise GM: Archives / Commissioner Unavailable 10/17 - 10/22

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be taking a bit of a break this week to focus on other things.  I think this is a good week to do.  We have everything wrapped up from the end of the season and we are still a couple of weeks from the draft, so there shouldn't be anything pressing that can't wait until Monday.  I will be around most of the day today, if anyone needs something.

Franchise GM: Draft Board / 2023 Draft Procedure
« on: October 11, 2023, 11:40:11 PM »
The 2023 First Year Player draft will begin at 11/1 at 9am ET.

:SD: has the first pick in the draft and can pick at any time.

The draft will last 10 rounds, but teams are not required to participate in all rounds.

Two rules changes go into effect for this year's draft:
  • Teams now have 12 hours to make their pick for each round.
  • Teams who do not select within the allotted 12 hours will have their selection be auto drafted in the first two rounds and skipped for the rest of the draft.
Additionally:
  • A team must have a roster spot available.  The player selected will be assigned to a minor league spot.  If there is not an available spot in the minors, the player selected will be placed on the MLB roster.  If there are no spots available at the time the pick is scheduled to be made, the team will be skipped.
Please consider the following to provide an enjoyable and respectful draft experience for all:
  • Sending a PM to the GM who is next in the draft order.
  • Notify us (Cris (ldsjayhawk) & Ben (braves155)), if any of the following apply at any time you:
    • want your team to be placed on auto draft,
    • no longer want to auto draft,
    • no longer want to draft,
    • will not be available and have a list of players you would like us to use to draft from.
    • do not want drafted players placed on your MLB roster
      • If a list has been supplied you will receive the first available player from your list.
      • If a list has not been supplied you will receive that highest rated player according to Baseball America's Top 500 list. You will also be placed in Auto-Pick where you will continue to receive the highest rated player from the BA Top 500 until you request to be removed from Auto Pick.
