PG Jrue Holiday - Free Agent - Extends at $22M for 1 year (#26 in 20-21, #33 in 21-22)
Sacramento Kings make this trade to ensure we get a great player to pair with Bradley Beal and Kawhi Leonard. The fact that we can sign him to a 1-year contract to also line up with the final year of Beal and Leonard's contracts is certainly also a plus. An argument could be made that we may have been able to get a similar player in free agency, but a lot of teams have deep pockets and a great point guard in free agency isn't guaranteed. Lewis and the #22 overall pick in the draft certainly have plenty of upside, but with Beal and Leonard in their prime we don't want to waste the current opportunity with developing players.

Anthony Davis $30m (2026) (New Orleans Hornets pay $30m in 2023 only)
It's a large amount of picks for Anthony Davis and his large contract, but if he can stay healthy he is undoubtedly a team changer. Getting him free this year allows me to continue to build my team and use my additional salary space this year to get an additional free agent contributer.

1) Extend Kawhi Leonard for 1 year at $24m (rank of #20 in 2020-21, rank of #1,125 in 2021-22)
2) Release the following players on expired contracts: Kyle Guy, DaQuan Jeffries, Rodney Hood, Justin James, Mike Muscala, Danuel House, Joe Ingles
3) Royce O'Neale $9m (2024) release for free using the free release granted by the commissioner due to the manager change
4) Sacramento Kings also would like to pick up the option this year on Devin Vassell ($3.4m) 2024 RFA

We like NAW, which is why we have traded for him twice in this league. However, his acquisition left us with only $0.1m in cap space. We hope to flip the draft capital gained in this deal for a cheaper reliable veteran.

Trey Lyles $0.8m (2023)
Knicks do this as we are stacked at PF, C so Lyles won't get to play much. We like Lyles and both the Pistons and Kings recognized his value last season where he was great in about 20 minutes per game and ended #139 overall. We only have two SF eligible guys so it's additional depth there with NAW. We also like the upside better of NAW and are hoping the Utah Jazz staff can help his development even if it will be rough in the short term.

Congratulations on the championship, San Antonio! I know there are still 2 days left, but it's already over at this point. Congratulations on the dominant performance during the regular season that carried over through to the playoffs. I can take comfort in the fact that I was the only one to beat you at all this year (regular season or playoffs), giving you your only loss during the regular season. Congratulations on the well earned and deserved championship. You made a lot of great moves this year to better your team for this years playoff run and position yourself for the future at the same time. Congratulations!
