Orioles make this deal to get an arm. We thought we had a deal in place for Bieber before but that got shot down. Here the Angels needed a young first baseman and I was after an arm for the stretch so I deal from my depth to get an arm for the rest of the year

Pretty simple deal here. The McCutchen injury was a big blow and I needed a stopgap. Sauer is a few years away so I'll forfeit the long term here to help short term

Ramirez became expendable once Machado permanently stayed at third base. I’m able to get Astudello who will hopefully keep his catcher status and give me a young back up for next year. Also able to grab a couple of promising young arms

Orioles make this deal to get younger and extend the championship window at the same time. Hicks and Fried are both upgrades and Lowe gives me another young option at first. Collins is a lot closer than Bart but Bart’s upside is more enticing to me. Rockies to confirm
