Franchise NHL / Re: Franchise NHL - Questions Section« on: June 30, 2015, 08:51:30 PM »Since you are already paying for the premium features of fantrax, you guys should really consider setting up the picks on Fantrax. For a little bit of setup work now it could make the admins lives a lot easier come draft time and easier for your GM's.Fine ideas BTW off topic, Niemi sure looks good in Dallas. Here is to hoping Stalock gets #1 Goalie in the Shark Tank. Cmon Sharks! 5573
Franchise NHL / Re: Franchise NHL - Questions Section« on: June 12, 2015, 02:25:00 PM »Seems relatively straight fwd though the 1st yr bulk up the FNHL Fantrax schedule with multiple matchups per team per wk we can expect a few speedbumps along the way.Should go off speedbump free PR. We could have an 82 game schedule (by having 4 opponents for the first 16 weeks (64 games) & 3 opponents for the final 6 weeks (18 games) of the current fantrax schedule design. I already have a scheduling model but defer to you & the mods. What takes time is entering the matchups in fantrax. Its tedious business for sure but once entered it can then be auto copied for each season thereafter. Thanks for taking the suggestion under consideration. 5574

Franchise NHL / Re: Franchise NHL - Questions Section« on: May 15, 2015, 03:51:22 AM »I does sound interesting. I will dig on Fantrax and see what it means.Yes BB it would have to be entered manually. Each matchup painstakingly 1 at a time. However once inputted once this can be auto set to carry over each season. My suggestion...we use last years exact schedule for each club. Once inputted, it is there forever. Someone(s) then got to input the schedule. (Assigning at least one person to post the schedule onsite in a thread individually starting at week one, and a fantrax designated inputter(s) building the schedule. I did this for a baseball league simulating 100+ games. We can do this if the league wants it. 5577
Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Re: Lightning/Avs Deal« on: May 13, 2015, 05:42:21 PM »Avs cleaned up on this deal given Semin was exposed to FA 3 times last yr. So getting anything for Semin is a big bonus. Good news for the Bolts is Semin's got a tiny cap hit with big potential if he shows up.Just cause Semin was exposed doesn't make him less viable. I expect a bounce back. ( Daddy's Semin is always better than expected ) When its all said & done track the draft picks production verse Semin in 2-3 years. Then you will know who won this trade. (Its always Daddy) 5578
Franchise NHL / Re: Franchise NHL - Questions Section« on: May 13, 2015, 05:20:48 PM »You post whatever and whenever you want man! Thanks man...(forget Jonathan ) I built the schedule in fantrax for Scouting Department (Corey made the schedule but it was implemented in fantrax by me) I would be happy to do the same for FNHL (if needed) Yes, fantrax allows you to set multiple opponents in the same week...this allows a more realistic simulation imo. The rewards are clear, it gives a truer sense of the strongest teams & playoff teams/matchups are more deserved. Division weighted scheduling also builds up rivalries & drives up interest. As a new GM having only 1 year vested in FNHL I did not wish to step on tradition, however I felt we could make a great league even better by increasing matchups to provide a more realistic total simulation. The current schedule only needs to be edited to accomplish this task. If the matter can be voted on or approved, it is not overly complicated to achieve. We could have an 82 game schedule (by having 4 opponents for 16 weeks = 64 games & 3 opponents the final 6 weeks) This is the best hockey league Ive ever been a part of, so if it stayed the same it wouldn't kill me, I would LOVE an 82 game simulation with all you fine gents. 5579

22 regular season weeks
Playing a 3 opponent per week format (scheduling can be adjusted to this format) would give us a 66 week simulation where each team can get the chance to play each team at least once. Division foes can have a true barometer of division heavy schedules. The entire league would in my opinion have a truer barometer. I cant speak for everyone, just speaking for myself the one game per week (or 22 game season) seems to drag & lack competitive balance (true season long simulation) & decreasing interest (again just my opinion). Thanks again. 5580

Has there ever been a discussion of playing multiple opponents per week?
Is this a topic that can be or has been raised, or possibly voted on? I love the league and want to stress that this is not a complaint. Thank you |
