Use Fantrax to make your drops
« on: October 22, 2020, 09:35:52 AM »
I have enabled owners to be able to make their own drops on Fantrax.  No need to make a post in most cases.

We still need to make posts to drop players right? I mean someone has to update the google spreadsheet roster and account for any buyout money that might stay on the roster. If we just all start dropping players off our roster I feel like we will end up with a google spreadsheet that isn't accurate.

The cap hits are handled by Fantrax automatically.

This change to Fantrax kinda makes the spreadsheet obsolete.

You will see the buy outs on each team on Fantrax.  If we want to keep the google sheets going ,  admins/Corey can still view the transactions on Fantrax and the cap hits, but I think you will find as we adjust that it wont be needed.

So Fantrax will automatically calculate the 66% buyout on the remaining contract value? Does that apply that over the same years of the contract remaining or do we have a choice? Can we still move buyouts around after the fact or are we locked in once we drop the player?

That's cool if you can set that as a feature on Fantrax to set up the B.O. amount

I'm assuming a Mod would have to alter the dollars if teams want to re-allocate how the BO is made though

(Quick question though - is any player who is dropped, making $1m/year or under still a free drop when done on Fantrax?)

Yes, fantrax will automatically put the 66% buyout on "all contracts".  By default i will put them in spread out over the remaining years.  I can manually adjust any buyout so if you decided to lump it all together, I can adjust that.

Player making 1 million and under will have the cap hit automatically assessed but I will still be removing the cap hit.  ( takes 2 clicks) .

The automation just reduces the mathematics and some of the manual work.
