It's all in the rules, if a player is left off of the protected player list he then can be taken in the expansion draft. If his contract is up he then needs to be signed to a contract. No differently than you would sign a player on your Tampa Bay team.

Is Vegas allowed to draft RFAs from other clubs?

We are working off the assumption that we can since we can't control resign tendencies of other clubs. This has become increasingly curious after all the trades this season.

Because we have to sign a certain number of players and some players are automatically ineligible (the Tampa roster is also not eligible) when combined with teams being able to protect whoever they want, I need to be sure RFAs (like Lundquist) are in play.

There are only 6 teams out West that even have winning records.

How in the world did the balance of power get so out of balance?

Vegas can't wait to help even things out

that said that top 6 in the West is a dangerous lot.

Champs got they work cut out to try and 3peat.

Indiansnation may have turned Minny from a team destined for #1 overall pick to a playoff team.

At the midway point or just past it, the title is up for grabs imo, there are lots of real contenders. I have no clue who Is going to win it.
