Powerhouse: Completed Transactions / Rays and Rockies
« on: February 02, 2019, 11:52:13 PM »
Tampa Bay trades:

SP Salazar, Danny $6.8m (2021)
w/ $3.5m paid in 2019 only

Colorado trades:

C Willians Astudillo $0.3m P-n/a
C Mitch Garver $0.3m P-n/a

I mainly needed to clear a little cap space and a roster spot otherwise I'd be holding onto him. That being said, I am a huge Astudillo fan and ironically enough I now have all 3 Minnesota catchers.

Thanks Brian

SP Michael Fulmer sp 558 k 3 years
SP Aaron Sanchez sp 550k 3 years
OF Preston Tucker 1 year of Arb after 2019 but idk his salary

I know most of my trades have been massive lately and I apologise, but once again I am capitalizing on the depth of my team and trading one of the best 1st baseman in the game to fill my gaping hole at 3rd base with one of the best players in the game. I hate to see Nick Williams, Michael Fulmer, and Jordan Hicks go but the rest of the return makes it easier to swallow. Once again, thank you Brian for the negotiations. I'm sure they won't be our last. :toast: :toast:

Powerhouse: Completed Transactions / Tampa Bay Ray's and Kansas City Royals
« on: February 02, 2019, 02:13:16 AM »
Tampa Bay receives:

OF Nomar Mozara $0.3m (P-2020)
1B Freddy Freeman $10.8m (2019)

OF Eddie Rosario $4m (2023)
1B Jesus Aguilar $7.5m (2022)

## if  accepted please sign Freddy Freeman to an additional 3 years @ $12m per. He finished #3 in 2018 and #4 in 2019

##please demote SP David Paulino $0.3m (P-n/a) to the minors.

Ray's agree to this to this deal because we are all in on the for the next couple of years and Freeman gets us to the next level. I hate to trade away Eddie Rosario because he has really came into his own this last year and is just entering his prime. However, I've been trying to get Mazara I'm every league that I own because I think he's going to break out this year; he's only 23 but loaded with potiential... However, I have been wrong before i.e. Bryon Buxton :(

Thanks Royals and good luck

Franchise GM: Completed Transactions / RP Michael Lorenzen Cin -- YANKEES
« on: January 30, 2019, 09:42:40 PM »
$0.5m

250
New York receives:
Aroldis Chapman 5.5(2019)

St. Louis receives:
Dee Gordon 10.5(2021)
Dexter Fowler 10.5(2019)
+(both can be flipped for more prospects/players)
Hunter Pence 10(2019)
Denard Span 5(2019)
Jose Reyes 5(2019)
Homer Bailey 3.5(2019)
+ ($23.5m in questionable value, but all expiring contracts so possible value if good 1st half performances)
Mike Siani .5(P-n/a) (4th round pick in 2018 draft who SIGNED FOR $2M!!!! THAT'S 1st ROUND MONEY)

New York receives:
Clayton Kershaw 12(2019)

St. Louis receives:
Mike Napoli 7.5(2019)
Hishashi Iwakuma 5.5(2019)
Kris Medlen 3(2019)
Connor Gillaspie 2(2019)
+ (This is $18m in "dead weight")
Nate Pearson .5(P-n/a) (#76 prospect/ top of rotation stuff)
Shane McClanahan .5(P-n/a) (1st round pick in 2018 draft. Chris Sale comps with "better stuff out of the draft")
Adam Kloffenstein .5(P-n/a) (3rd round pick in 2018 draft who SIGNED FOR $2.45M!!!! THAT'S 1st ROUND MONEY)
Bubba Thompson .5(P-n/a) (#10 Texas prospect but climbing. 20/20 upside with .280+ avg potential)

This is the same exact deal but I've tried to break it down in two separate deals that hopefully make it easier to see. In the top trade the value of Dee Gordon and Dexter Fowler plus prospect Mike Sani are worth more than the less than desirable value of the other players. But I am also taking an overpaid (by league stardards) relief pitcher to take back some of the money I am.sending. We can all go into free agency and find a reliever who will get $4m-$5m less than Chapman and still score as many points.

As for the second trade, Clayton Kershaw is a future hall of famer, yes, but he is not the Clayton Kershaw of 3-4 years ago . In the past 5 seasons he has missed 34 starts due to various injures, or an average of almost 7 per season). He is on the wrong side of 30 so these issues are not going away. I am sending him 4 top prospects, as explained above, and $23m in dead cap space that all expires this season. However, he is really only taking on $11m in dead because he is subtracting the $12m that is being paid to Kershaw.

I know that some of you don't agree with the trade because you might not make it, but this trade is more than fair in the eyes of the two GM's making it, it does not break any rules, and it is not an obvious throw away trade by either GM because they are mad or quitting or whatever. It was done in good faith and should stand (please).

  • dbreer23: Take two to tango, though. Most owners with adequate or surplus SP aren't interested in prospects as they're trying to win now.

  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development

  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen
