The 2019 season is upon us — with Opening Day set for this Thursday. Please check your rosters to make sure everything is in sync between Fantrax and ProFSL.
Free Agency will continue throughout the season, and I will try and make sure your rosters are up-to-date, but sometimes things slip by me, so don’t hesitate to PM me if there is an issue.
I wanted to alert everyone that because we do our best to mirror MLB, we will not have a waiver period this season because MLB has set July 31st as the sole deadline for trades. MLB has done away with the August waiver trading period, so as such, so will Franchise GM. I hope this isn’t too disconcerting to anyone, but it seems to be like a logical move based on our established precedence of trying to mirror MLB.
Finally, the Marlins continue to be vacant, and as I noted previously, I will monitor lineup changes for the Marlins until we find a suitable GM. I did reach out to Redstockings shortly after he posted his interest in joining FGM, but alas that proved fruitless as he has not logged on in the last two weeks. A second applicant posted his interest, but he was previously the GM of a team that had to be placed in receivership, so it doesn’t make any sense to go in that direction. Eventually, someone will surface, and again, I ask all of you to help recruit someone to take over the Miami Marlins. Other than that, we’re in pretty good shape, so let’s have a great season.
