Seems like almost a sure thing for the Bolts after Game 4. Tampa Bay leading 3-1 in the Finals. It'll be a great victory if/when it happens for the Bolts and Julien Brisebois. Coleman and Goodrow trades looking amazing now considering all the 1st rounders Brisebois dealt away. Steve Yzerman will deserve a cake shaped like a Stanley Cup ring at the very least. And for Pat Maroon, it will be real sweet after the way St. Louis cut bait with him and the Lightning were lucky or smart enough t sign him for 900K. Best 900K any team can spend.

With the imminent outright loss of Wilson, we felt it was best to get a deal done. It's pretty much the 11th hour at this point and we feel we can move forward with this deal. Since the last Canes owner sold the farm (my guess is he had an "All In" "Win now!" strategy), we need to rebuild and restock our Georgia Thrashers with some fresh bodies. Thanks to EndGame and the Anaheim Ducks for working with us on getting this deal done.

We talked to WildThing and the talks initially died off in the summer. Then we picked up the talks during the Supplemental and hammered out the sticking points. Canes wanted more futures. We didn't want to overpay for a big fat contract since we had no real urgency cap or player-wise. Worked out for us both. Canes and Ducks seem to be moving in the right direction for the upcoming season.
