Top 60 draft picks - list
« on: July 28, 2010, 01:09:08 PM »
With the signing deadline around the corner, would anyone mind posting BP's Top 60, or 100 draft picks for this years entry draft, so those of us without a subscription can take a look at it? Please and thank you.

I am curious, how does the default draft ranking work? BA only shows top 200 and BP shows a lot less. The default ranking is going to run out of players before the 8th round....

It's also stupid that owners who can't tell apart Taillon from Arlie can still draft good players. Ratherr than use a default ranking, owners that miss their picks should get players sorted alphabetically.

I think anyone playing in a 30 team league should at least have some knowledge of players that were just drafted. Otherwise they won't last too long in this league. Our current crop GM's seem to be very knowledgeable, so I don't think having a default is a problem, nor will it be given the current league participation from just about everyone. I don't think the default draft will be used all that often, so I have no problem of it being used. Some people just won't have the time, but I don't see that as a frequent occurrence.

I need to politely disagree.  It would be much more fun, and appealing for replacement GMs, if the league remains some what balanced.  In a system which talent is distributed based on alphabetical prioritization it would become almost silly if we gave bad teams nobodies.  Maybe I'm off but just my opinion.

On another note, I wouldn't be providing lists for other GMs.  Draft boards are held private and GMs will often use the media to throw a rival off.  Im not sharing my thoughts on whose best.  If you need a list, google it!

If we are using a certain list to gauge how much we have pay our picks, then it should be made available to everyone. I don't want it for knowledge - I already have that - I want it to know what it is going to cost me. If it isn't going to be made readily available to all the GMs by the league, then it should be used as a monetary guideline.
