Reds do this to get some depth, and some cheap MLB contracts on players that have a little bit of upside. With the injuries I have dealt with it is a nice security blanket. Bob, pleasure dealing with you again, please confirm at your earliest convenience.

The baltimore Orioles confirm.  The chance to move two fringe MLB players for prospects with higher upside was not an oppurtunity we could pass up.  Romine is a decent catcher that is blocked by the depth at C in the yankees system and may not get a shot in the MLB for a while but should be good when he gets there.  Sweeney was a draftee last year and had a decent showing in rookie ball after being drafted.  Yambati is a high upside pitcher in the royals system who will hopefully take a step forward this year in a deep system.
