I think we should consider changing the "2nd bid has to double initial J2 bid" rule. That makes a $2.7 mil bid or so top bid to whoever posts first while there may be bidders willing to go well over that amount but unable double

I'm sure there are a number of ways to improve J2 free agency but I like the way it is sooo much more than open bidding I'm sure we can get creative and improve the current structure but to scrap what we have and turn it into a free for all would be a shame.

I think the 2nd bid must continue to be doubled. I get that it creates the top tier guys signing for cheaper, however it?s the closest possible way to make it equivalent to real baseball. It may allow a team to get 2 of the top players, because inevitably some teams don?t get on and post a player day 1, but it protects teams that would prefer to get 4 or 5 of the next tier players more than it impacts the top tier guys.

A rule I?d like to change is the necessity of posting a link to baseball reference for non-J2 FA signings. Mostly, the posting of a link for a J2 players doesn?t impact someone looking up info and stealing a player. However, in the regular season, the posting of a link, just takes away the bonus of doing research. I want to protect the owners willing to do research and find teams and try to prevent the teams that just see a posted player, click on the link and see the player has 15 homers and the bidding on him.
