The matchups for the Championship Series in both leagues is set and here’s what we can look forward to. 

In the NLCS, we have the two best teams in the FGM National League going head to head.  During the regular season, these two teams met six times, and the won five of those contests.  But, one thing to consider is that has gotten back some of their SPs from the IL, and seems to be jelling at the right time.  We all know that the playoffs are a different scenario than the regular season, so it’s going to be interesting to see these two Goliaths battle it out. 

In the ALCS, we have an unlikely matchup between two teams that are also peaking at the right time.  The have been the underdog in both the Wild Card series and the ALDS.  Yet in both instances, they have come out on top in convincing fashion.  Can they keep it up and continue their Cinderella rise to the FGM World Series?  The task ahead of is going to be their greatest challenge to date, as their opponent is the AL powerhouse  

The have a balanced roster of hitting and pitching, and like their counterparts, they are also peaking at the right time.  Of the eight teams competing in the Division Series, they scored the most, and demonstrated that they are ready to compete for the opportunity to play in the FGM World Series.

Both Series should be fun to follow.  Check back throughout the week for some updates.

I didn't really have time to offer some plaudits to and for their playoff quests. 

As I have mentioned before, has had a tremendous season under some trying circumstances.  In the end, injuries were their doom, but those injuries do not take away from the adept managing of the GM, soonerorlitigator.  Travis has quietly assembled quite a roster and is set to compete for years to come and is a model for others in the league to follow. 

, on the other hand, has had a bit of a storybook journey.  Many times, when a GM suddenly leaves in midseason, as ldsjayhawk did, the team goes to through a period of decline as the new GM, when one is found, tries to regroup and figure out the best way to proceed.  However, FGM was fortunate to have Jonathan (jblum) return to the league and take over the franchise.  Through his aggressive managing, the upended the and to get to the ALCS. 

My congratulations to both of these GMs for their yeomen efforts to reach the Championship Series in their respective leagues.  They are both fine competitors and deserve all the accolades from the league for their work as fantasy baseball GMs.
