New York Knicks trade RJ Barrett $9.2M (2023) RFA to
New Orleans Pelicans for Lonzo Ball $11.0M (2021) RFA

New York accepts because RJ Barret cannot shoot (40.2 FG%), which is important in basketball so I am getting the sharpshooting Lonzo Ball (40.3 FG%). Ball pairs well with the recently traded Huerter. A big guard that rebounds and gets assists. There should be plenty of easy assists with Zion on the floor. His assist rate and overall shooting percentages increased once Zion returned from injury last year. RJ Barrett will continue to play in the disaster that is New York where he might not develop and reach his potential.

  • Brent: Agreed.  I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ.  I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
