Devils and Blackhawks Swing a Summer Deal

LW Sullivan 1.5m 2013-14
D Ference .6 2013-14

C Carter .2m 2013-14

Chicago wanted us to take Sullivan off their books and we asked for Ference in return since we need help on defense. We sent Carter the other way to balance the trade and he was only a depth player in Jersey so we're not losing much to add something we need.

Hawks confirm this trade. We wanted to dump old man Sully but weren't willing to overpay for the disposal. Devils wanted a D and we have some to spare so it was an easy deal to make especially with no big salaries involved.

Thanks JD!
