* Trades  (cannot post new trades after this deadline)
* Last day to start new Free Agent bids (until July 11th when Franchise NHL Free Agency begins)

no difference before or after the deadline. teams just can't open new free agent bidding threads after the deadline. however, bids that are already open remain so until 48hrs have elapsed from the time of the last bid on the player.
