Boston/Phillies deal

[nerwffej]

Boston sends:
OF DeJesus, David, $5.5m (2013)
RP Morales, Franklin, $0.5m (2013)
RP Samardzija, Jeff, $1.5m (2014)

Phillies send:
OF Crawford, Carl, $12m (2014)
SP Smith, Will, $0.5m (P-2015)
X-OF Crawford, Carl, Cash Exchange on Contract through 2014, $-4m in 2013

Boston makes deal to add higher end quaity hitter we  lose in pitching but feel we can make it up in free agency

[papps]

Phillies agree. I hate to lose Crawford but I really needed pitching and Samardjiza has a great contract. DeJesus is also serviceable for the price.

Thanks for the deal Jeff!
