Sharks and Islanders deal

[Burkes Boys]

Looks like the weekend vacationers are trading players and taking off. Sharks are trading our MLR goalie prospect Murphy who's tired of being behind Bishop and Lehner currently in Ottawa and has just moved to Europe for the upcoming season but he's only doing it to get good playing time I think in Sweden in addition to an inexpensive winger that bangs bodies in Kassian
Zack Kassian, $1.5m (2013-2014) RW
Mike Murphy, $0.2m (2012-2013) G

for

RW - Akim Aliu (2007: 2/56 - 2 Games)
Round 3 - 2012 (MIN)
Round 4 - 2012 (NYI)
I want the picks to add prospects to my MiLR which is somewhat emptier than I like. I'm also clearing a couple of roster spots to make room for free agency.

Thanks for the quick back and forth snugerud!  :toast:
Islanders to confirm.

Have a great weekend everyone. I'm out!

if akim makes the flames roster in a regular spot, kassian and him break even.  if aliu busts than i win the trade.

Picks schmicks i have a full MILR so adding a decent goalie prospect to the fold was enough motivation for me.

i think :NYI: win by getting the better player in Zack Kassian and a goalie who might return to the nhl in 2013-14. Murphy is actually a solid prospect buried in ottawa's system.
