Phillies - Cards Deal

[papps]

Phillies send:

P Stites, Matt, $0.5m (P-n/a)

for

OF Byrd, Marlon, $5m (2012)
X-OF Byrd, Marlon, Cash Exchange on Contract through 2012, $-5m in 2012

I'm looking for a little depth.  I know Byrd is off to a horrible start but I'm hoping he has one more good year left.  With the salary paid its little risk for me.

Thanks Paul for the easy negotiations.  :toth:

Cardinals confirm.  We didnt plan on keeping Byrd so it was a no-brainer.
