Contract Updates

I have set up the contracts in Fantrax to use the automated setting.  Accordingly, we need to adjust a few contract definitions.  This is not a rule change, it is just a change to the way contracts will be displayed going forward.  These changes will be phased in over the next few weeks in Fantrax as all of the contracts are updated.

P-n/a => 2050
P-2025 => 3rd
P-2026 => 2nd
P-2027 => 1st

Players who have not exhausted the prospect maximums, i.e. 50 games for a hitter and 40 IP for a pitcher, will be marked as 2050.  At the end of the season, contracts for players who exhaust the maximums will be manually adjusted from 2050 to 1st.

Contracts for 1st, 2nd & 3rd year players will automatically roll over to the next year upon renewal and rollover of the league in Fantrax.  Contract extensions will need to be performed prior to the rollover of the league.  The rollover of the league will take place the week after the roster move / extension deadline.

Cap hits will be automatically added by Fantrax, but will need to be reviewed for correctness.  I don't believe there is rounding available in Fantrax.

If anyone is willing to assist in updating contracts to match the spreadsheet, your help would be much appreciated, even if you want to do it just for your team.  The more hands to help, the lighter the work.

I have sent a PM to a selected number of GMs to update contracts.  If we can get these updated as soon as possible that would be very helpful.  Here are the instructions I have sent out:

Hello!

I am sending this message to each of you to ask you to update the contracts on each of your teams.

Prospect Contracts:

• P-n/a => 2050
• Players who have not exhausted the prospect maximums, i.e. 50 games for a hitter and 40 IP for a pitcher,  should be marked as 2050.
• Players who exhausted the prospect maximums in 2025 should be marked as 2050 and will be adjusted after the league roll over.
• P-2025 => 3rd

• If it has been updated on the SS and it starts in 2026, update
• If it does not start in 2026, send me a PM
• If it has not been updated, do not update in Fantrax

If you already had commissioner powers and have already completed this, please note that I had 1st & 3rd reversed.  P-2025 should be 3rd because those are the expiring contracts this year.

Please do not make any adjustments that are not captured on the SS.  I will be using the SS to reconcile the contracts before we roll the league over.
