Reds/ Giants Trade - KD Lang heads to Cincy

[Dan Wood]

I guess we can call this trade the never say never trade... Reds send the prodigal son Jay Bruce along with Trevor Cahill, for Tim Lincecum. And if he gets hurt on my watch I will drive to SF and slap him like the sissy he is.

Trade is

P Lincecum, Tim, $0.5m (P-2010)

for

OF Bruce, Jay, $0.5m (P-2011)
P Cahill, Trevor, $0.5m (P-2012)
P Martinez, Joe, $0.5m (P-n/a)

With my trade with the Mets last night I had the OF depth to make this deal. Plus I have mini Bruce in Travis Snider (if you can call him mini). I hate to see him go, but it is hard to pass up the best pitcher in baseball.

Side note: this deal was hammered out at NYSC in Mahwah, NJ in case anyone wants to go take pictures. The cable machine is being sent to the Franchise GM Hall of Fame.

I concur... Bruce's young bat is just what the Giants need to help rebuild what has been a putrid offensive club. Lincecum as many of you know, has been shopped around quite a bit this off-season and this was exactly what i was hoping to land in a deal for him.

Vaya con Dios brah!

Well done guys.

Wow... what a deal.  It is certainly fair and I see the reason for trading Tim.  :money:
