Detroit/San Jose strike a deal (post 2017 draft)

[izaman3]

To San Jose
:LVG::WAS-NHL3: Kasperi Kapanen, $0.2m (2017-2019)
Tyler Bertuzzi, $0.2m (2017-2019)

To Detroit
Sharks Supp Draft Pick Round 1 - 2018
Sharks Supp Draft Pick Round 2 - 2018
Vegas Round 1 - 2018
San Jose Round 2 - 2018

This deal is posted dated after the 2017 draft and pending final approval of SJ's deal with Vegas.

This was a tough one, Kap and Bert should crack the lineup this year and project to be great wingers. SJ is doing and great job of filling the team out and shaping it for the future. When asked about Kap and Bert, I know the only way I would deal them away would be for future assets. I do like draft picks, and I'm excited to have our first supplemental draft at the end of the season and liked the idea of pick up a couple more of those picks. With FA the way it has been, the supp draft may be a little shallow on talent, but the 2018 draft should be a good one, and I'm putting myself in position to reap its benefits.

Thanks for the deal SJ!

Sharks agree I at first wasn't going to move my picks but with fa cost on players I wanted missed out on some I wanted so I figured the best way for sharks is trade future picks for young current players I like and both these guys I like alot
