Hawks and Flames swap Star blueliners.

[PsychoticPondGoons]

Had an offer on the table and finally decided to pull the trigger.
It's a healthy deal for both sides.

TO CHICAGO :CHI-NHL:
D Kevin Shattenkirk, $6.1m (2016-2017)
Round 4 - 2016 (from :CLG:)
Round 4 - 2016 (from :CLG:; originally :CHI-NHL:)

TO CALGARY :CLG:
D Mark Giordano, $6.6m (2016-2020)  or 5.0m cap hit with Franchise Player discount applied

Flames wanted to get Giordano as a Franchise Player. I wanted a younger D and some late rd pks.
Mission accomplished.

Over to you JD.
Thanks for the trade man.  :toast:

Bs Confirm.
Cap savings and dollars to make other smaller moves. Thats why we did this deal. Thanks PPG.

Good deal for both sides, I'd give a slight edge to Chicago for picking up the couple picks.

[PigsRule]

:iatp: will be interesting to see what Calgary can do with 1m in "extra" cap. Haha

Get creative Jack.

:iatp: Agree with Izaman.
