What? I don't get this, we've always been able to buyout players whenever.

Plus Jonathan didn't say the buyout was for last season, the years he posted were 16-17 and 17-18, so he'd been paying the buyout this year and next.

That's is correct for the most part.
However remember there is a transaction freeze while rosters are prepared for FA.
