Please note that wk 1 of the 2015-16 schedule runs Oct7-18.
I believe PPG made the call for a 21 wk regular season to allow for 4 match-ups per team wkly for an 84 game reg.sesson schedule (close to the NHL's 82 game reg.season). The alternatives were a 66 game sched. or 88 games.
Lets see if anyone can pull off an undefeated reg. season ( :LAK: LA did it last yr with a 22 game reg.sesson schedule) ever again with 80+ reg season games.
:iatp:
The first 2 wks of the NHL season are merged and the 1st wk of the NHL would've been a short 4 day wk anyway.
That's it! Unless I put in a call to the techies at Fantrax and asked them to customize the schedule to feature exactly 82 games that math machine wasn't going to work using the existing setup.
Anyway 84 games is fine. We are the Fnhl, not the NHL so we make the schedule that works for us and this works.
Good to have hockey.
