Philly/St.Louis TRADE

[ripper]

Philly get:
Gabriel Landeskog, $7.5m (2014-2018)
Kyle Turris, $1.6m (2012-2015)
RW - Nicklas Jensen
C - Mark McNeill

Blues get:

Evgeni Malkin, $5.1m (2014-2017)
Chris Higgins, $2.4m (2014-2017)
Marek Zidlicky, $0.4m (2013-2015)

This was a solid back and fourth for a few hours. Once again I get a bit of cap but loose my depth. I love Gabe but needed to pay the piper to land Geno,

Fun few hours Papps

Flyers agree.  Geno is a stud but I like Landy a lot.  I'm hoping Turris can continue the really good year last year.  I really like Jensen and McNeill is a solid spec.  Higgins is a solid player and Zidlicky is good but a little long in the tooth.  We both get what we want.  Here's hoping to Turris being the real deal!  :toast:

Thanks ripper!  I appreciated the negotiations.  Good luck to you!  :toth:

Its a sound investment for both. I hate declaring winners and losers the day of a trade, its very subjective.
I will predict that Malkin is still the best player being moved, that said, its just a good deal all around.

It's a friggin arms race in this league!!! Superstars are flying off the shelf around Franchise NHL!
Flyers are getting younger and rebuilding their MiLR.
Blues diversify with this trade and get great value on that tiny Zidlicky contract.
Another huge trade by these teams.

I will give the Edge to :STL-NHL: for adding more potential in this trade but it looks even overall. Some bigs trades during the off-season. Great to see the builders building!

:iatp: Id hate to be in the Central div after this with Geno putting on a Blues sweater.

I like all the young guys heading over to St.Louis.
