Detroit & Minny Deal

[Tyler]

To Minny

Tyler Johnson, $2.5m (2013-2016)
Shawn Matthias, $4.3m (2013-2016)
Reilly Smith, $0.3m (2013-2015)
David Rundblad, $0.5m (2013-2015)

To Detroit

Anze Kopitar, $6.8m (2015-2016)
Frank Corrado, $0.3m (2013-2015)
Round 2 - 2014

Minnesota and it's overhaul continues. Kopitar is a bonafide star but I had star power with no depth, this rounds me out to compete long term.

Th ask for the pleasant trade chat Ian

I confirm this deal.

Minny was looking for depth and that's what I brought to Detroit this off-season. After all my work to acquire youth and depth, and I thought I was happy with my team, but when someone is shopping names like Perry, Getzlaf, and Kopitar then you've got to inquire about them.

I give up some great young talent with nice looking upside, but I get a star and a couple of other very nice pieces.

It took some back and forth, but I think both sides got a good deal.

Nice dealing with ya Tyler!  :toast:
