Reds/Braves Trade Announced

Reds trade :

R Hannigan C $2.0m (2013)
R Nolasco   SP $12m (2013)

Braves trade :

J Jurrjens SP $5.5m (2013)
T Hanson Sp $0.535m (2013) ARB (2015)

Atlanta agrees don't really like nolasco getting 12 million for this year but I get a decent catcher in hanigan for just 2 million this year and keeps me from wanting to spend 9 to 10 million plus for 5 years on McCann so I can focus on other needs.  Also like the fact that Nolasco's 12 million will be coming off by next year giving me a chance at other players next year.  While Hanson was given up at a cheap price I feel I have pitching that will cover for his departure from the team.

I didn't really want to trade Hannigan, as he's my only available catcher with Grandal suspended 50 games and Meseroco stuck behind Hannigan on the same team, but this trade gives me cap-relief by trading Nolasco, but I also get back Tommy Hanson who still has potential to win a lot of games and Jurrjens could potentially start for the Orioles.

This trade helps me trim cap-space and make my roster younger and more flexible to fill my many holes i the outfield and at corner-infield.
