And Toronto's originally owned 5th round pick for next year (was received in earlier trade now given back)

Jays doing this as they have a plethora of SPing and are deciding to take a smart gamble on Yelich bouncing back. We do give a bit of youth, but like what Wisler and Andrus bring to the team. While Andrus may not have the upside of the INFs given, he is consistent and provides stability. Wisler is solid and will serve as the occasional 'opener' for the rays, and possibly carve out a significant role for them.
We are aware of the cap situation we will be in, being 3-4M under, but once Fried hits FA, his re-sign value will rival, and may exceed Yelich's, so moving him now was a wise move we feel, especially with Nola being a 2024 FA and a target of ours to re-sign.

I had posted a 'response' to the deal after, after I posted the deal.  Just saw the email that it didn't post. ?
In short, the Dodgers finally complete a 5 man rotation. The swap of infielders add the depth we were aiming for at the beginning of the off-season.  Loosing Yelich is hard, but I feel that Jo Adell should be ready to be a  steady player moving forward.   Additionally, adding +/- 10m in cap, will now offer some flexibility in getting out from under a pretty bad contract.

Sorry, there is an issue here and I just now noticed.

Yelich's contract was signed back in 2019 cover 2020 - 2024, because of the 2020 freeze his contract moves back one year to 2021-2025. So he should be a FA in 2026 not in 2027. I'm not sure if that changes this trade or not.
