1) Are teams allowed to make trades at this time?

2) Are players on expired contracts allowed to have their rights traded? I know RFAs can have their rights traded, but I wasn't sure about regular free agents. IE: I was hoping to trade Doug McDermott if allowed as I do not wish to extend his contract.

Is there a penalty for dropping players that make over $1m from the G-League? Thanks, in advance.



G-League:

*Once a player hits 60 games played, you will have a week to call them up or they will be released (and you will have to pay the penalty for that player's release unless player makes under $1m salary)


Releasing Players:

Any player making $1m or less is eligible to be free dropped. Anyone who is cut from the G-League will also not bring a cap penalty.

As long as they have not already hit the 60 game threshold, there is no penalty to releasing the G-League player.

No he can just be traded without resigning first.

Does the winning bidder of a player in RFA set the contract term too, then the manager with RFA rights has to match the contract term and amount per year or does the manager have to just match the total high bid amount?

IE: Bam Adebayo is at $100m. If that bid stands can the winning bidder set a term of their choosing of for example 2 years at $50m to make it nearly impossible for the team with RFA rights to match it, or does the RFA rights holder just have to match the total $100m bid amount and can then choose whatever term they want?

It?s whoever gets the player. So if the owner matches, they choose the contract terms. If the owner doesn?t match, the team that won the bid chooses the contract terms.

Would it be possible for all rule changes to be emailed to everyone or announced somewhere? I see last night the RFA rules were changed to 72 hours to match from 24 hours to match the high bidder. I only know that because you said Brent had 72 hours to make a decision on an RFA contract. It would be helpful to be made aware of any rule charges when they happen. Especially a rule like that as the strategy completely changes for me in bidding.

There was no bidder on that RFA.
