I’ve spent most of this off-season working around my resign problem and dealing some minor league talent to sure up the roster for a run at the title. The result of that work was an abundance of talent at a few positions and dealing from that depth allows me to acquire a solid middle infielder to help my depth there and add some talent back to my minor league system. I honestly love Canning, but the injury scares me a bit and I’d rather not sit through the back and forth for potential TJ, so I get value for him now. Angels approve.

A bit of a gamble given Cannings injury status but I desperately needed some starting pitching and a second catcher to stay competitive for another title. Depleting my farm a bit hurts but was necessary after I sat out the spending bonanza in FA. Thanks to the Yanks for good negotiations
