I do not believe there should be a cap on goalies. The problem lies on the value of fantasy points that the goalies can attain. To me personally it is way out of whack. It is out of proportion to what can be achieved by forwards or dmen. Lets roll it back like Walmart...lol. The FA bidding for goalies was just rediculous, 10 mil for Reimer, come on, get serious. To me the goalie fantasy value is the one weak link to a otherwise incredibly well run and mucho enjoyable league.
This is the way I see it. 1) Nothing can be done this year, so everything will stay the same.2) It would not be fair to lower the goalie fantasy points. Some goalies got bigger contracts do to the thinking they have these higher point values. (If you drop the value then you have to compensate owners for over bidding) I like the idea of dropping teams to a limit of 3 or 4 goalies in the future.6 Goalies - 2011-125 Goalies - 2012-134 Goalies - 2013-14 (drop fantasy values?)3 Goalies - 2014-15? (drop fantasy values?)I think this would be the best way to work it in and all teams would have a fair chance at making adjustments for their team.
It is just the beginning of the season and in actuality the first full season of Backyard, let us see what the season unfolds as the first weeks of NHL has been full of surprises.I like Tonys idea as he wrote down where I could not
