Extension Values Changes

I have changed extension values for forwards and goalies now as well. Check it out!

I don't think it fair to just raise the extension values as I know some of us signed contracts a bit differently. Also trades that I was working on are not deals I won't do because to resign the player will be 3m more then it was before

These values are to better reflect the point system in the league. Goalies are one of the most valuable assets in the league so therefore should request the most money to re-sign. Forwards are more valuable then defense so the top end talent should receive more money. I am open to suggestions of how to how the extension values around.

It is also to create more turnover in free agency in the goaltender region.

I like the idea because the extension values for goalies need to go up , but think it is to sudden IMO. For example I would have signed Vokoun to 2 or 3 years at 5m instead of just 1. Maybe slowly work it in like the minor cap?

It needs to slowly be worked in not just hit us all at once

Something like this? 2011-12/7.0m - 2012-13/7.5m - 2013-14/8.0m

I just think it is better to change them so they fit our scoring system and say this is how it is going to be.

Its understandible why... But it sucks for me cause I have to resign Crawford this year and was trying to make my cap work accordingly, now ill prob be way off lol

Exactly why I would like to see it as more of a gradual thing maybe 0.5m every year or something like that I know that I planned to spend so much on FA's so I can resign everyone and now I have to readjust it all. I know I just about took on a goalie that was about to expire with the thought that I might be able to get him a better cheaper but now he will be way more
