Dodgers/Blue Jays
« on: February 18, 2022, 08:42:23 AM »
Blue Jays Receive:
3B/BAL Kelvin Gutierrez $550K (2024)
OF/TB Brett Phillips $584K (2022-ARB)

Dodgers Receive:
2B/PIT Michael Chavis $550K (2022-ARB)
2022 MLB 5th Rd Pick & 8th Rd Pick

Jays are doing this as they need a bit of depth and are taking a chance on Gutierrez and some calculated risk with Phillips. The team feels this helps the team a bit more going forward and are happy to help another team out looking for someone more full-time. Believer in opportunity, we hope Gutierrez pans out.

Agreed

Dodgers were able move a surplus OF, and pick up a middle infielder.  Chavis is still something of a curiosity to me. Is he the 320 on base 18hr guy we saw a couple years ago? Or is he the 190 2 hr guy we was the first half of last season?   He closed the year out strong and should get opportunity in Pittsburgh.   If nothing else, we moved a couple platoon pieces, opened up an extra roster spot on the 40, and add a couple of picks to next seasons draft.   As stated above, I think it's a deal that works for both teams

  • indiansnation: 2:15PM: The Dodgers announced this afternoon that they’ve placed right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the 15-day injured list with triceps tightness. The club also placed right-hander Michael Grove on the 15-day injured list due to lat tightness. In corresponding moves, the club has recalled right-hander J.P. Feyereisen and selected the contract of right-hander Michael Petersen. To make room for Petersen on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers transferred right-hander Joe Kelly to the 60-day injured list.
