*Our mission is for our GMs to simply run the franchise they have chosen the best they can. The league will run the league.

MLB LIVE teams on fantrax are privately funded & we are only looking for LIVE GMs.
 
TRADING
Is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week from the Fantrax rollover of a new season until the ACTUAL MLB trade DEADLINE.
When they stop trading. We stop trading.
Cash cannot be exchange during trades.
Trades are approved or vetoed based on the 3 panel vote of the League Office & processed immediately after majority vote. Trades are between the trading parties & the league. Competition has no vote.

SCORING
MLB LIVE is a H2H Category based scoring league that uses sabermetric type scoring as well as raw production over 20 Categories.

Win the most categories and you win the matchup.

It is possible to end in a tie 10.0 to 10.0
Tie breakers are used in the post season only.

All around team performance is emphasized in MLB LIVE so that each player has a factor in teams W/L including RPs and marginal MLB players.

A team will be required to produce a minimum of 90 At Bats within each scoring period.

A team will be required to produce a minimum of 35 Inning Pitched within each scoring period to qualify for the ERA, WHIP, HR/9 and K/BB categories.

*There are no limits to the amount of starts a team may have in a scoring period (1 week).
*There are no limits to the amount of innings a team may pitch in a scoring period.
*There are no limits to the number of AB's a team can have in any scoring period.

*Any team failing to achieve the minimum standards will forfeit that category. In the event that both teams in a match-up fail to qualify, the category will be a tie. In the playoffs a tie breaker system is used which is stored on Fantrax
In MLB LIVE everyone inherited a legal roster, every GM must keep the teams roster scoring legal at all times.

The Mandatory 20 Rule
Someone with mlb experience must be in the lineup on fantrax even if injured. At no time can any lineup not be full even during the off season without violation.

A player qualifies for a NEW position by playing 5 games the current season or 10 games the previous season at MLB, Milr, or both combined. *EACH GM MUST POST his requested update like a transaction to have additional eligibility added to default.

AMATEUR DRAFT

Beginning in 2024 we will hold a draft lottery right after the season ends. In keeping with the real MLB system.

""As aforementioned, the draft order will be set by a lottery similar to the NBA. MLB instituted the lottery in the CBA negotiated last year, so 2025 will be the first year in MLB LIVE with the order set by lottery. Each team that misses the postseason has a chance at the No. 1 pick, with the worst teams having higher odds.""

How will this work for us?
If 16 teams miss the playoffs they will each be assigned a corresponding number value.
Example:
If St Louis has the worst record to end 2024 and if there are 16 teams that miss the post season ST Louis random number will be assigned 16 times.

The next worse team 15. The next worse 14. Until we are down to 1.

LM will assign the numbers randomly and submit to the Moderators to list #1 thru #16.
The 3 Mods will list out the 16 numbers #1 thru #16 without knowing the team those numbers correspond with or the weight value assigned to each.

The LM will then gather the lists. If all three Mods select the same number #1 then that team would have the first pick. If the numbers are spread out the LM will do the math to determine based off your lists and the weighted value who gets what pick.

The playoff teams will be entered by selection based off of post season finish.

The LM will input that information into fantrax manually.

The lottery will take place Monday at 8pm following our World Series.
Our official draft date will be one week after the conclusion of the MLB Draft 8PM EST

Q. What if drafted players don't sign contracts, re-enter the pool and then get drafted again a year or two down the line.
Answer = Any drafted player(s) are eligible to be drafted in MLB LIVE & as none of them have contracts at the time of the draft, because they were in OUR FANTASY DRAFT POOL the drafting team will retain that players rights (no different than players who get outright  released who remain on peoples teams. Team retains all rights until they choose to move on.)
The drafted player stays on the drafting teams roster unless the drafting team trades or releases that player. They would also be removed from future draft pools.

Trading of draft picks
Once picks no longer show on fantrax to be traded they are no longer eligible to be traded and are locked in for the Draft.
All trades must be Fantraxed processed to be valid.

The MLB LIVE Amateur Draft will continue to happen one week to the date of the conclusion of the MLB Draft in July beginning 8pm EST with a running six hour (time to pick) clock.
If for any reason you feel you could miss your selection you would simply pm @Daddy & @DaveW a proxy prior to your selection.
Anyone not knowing what a proxy is or how to submit a proxy list of top 5 or top 10 send me a pm for further instruction on how to do that.

note* BAPTN (Best available player team need) according to the league who has to make the selection for you is the auto pick process. It's arbitrary according to rankings & drafted status. All auto picks are final.


PROSPECT CONTRACTS & DISCOUNTS
Prospect Contracts = PC = $500k P-n/a
Minor league and PC eligible players:
Pitchers 50 MLB innings limit
Hitters 130 MLB at bats>> has been changed to 45 games played
Once a player is no longer PC eligible his major league clock begins & his contract becomes $500k $500k $500k
At this time resign discounts are as follows per rankings & remaining prospect contract.
Year 1 $500k $500k $500k = 50% discount to resign.
Year 2 $500k $500k = 25% discount to resign.
Year 3 $500k = $10% discount to resign.
All re-signs start the following season.
If the prospect contract expires there is no discount to resign the player as they become UFA.

PC Bid REAL TIME SCOUTING SYSTEM
*Will be awarded immediately as long as the bid is first to be valid

Player must be on PC contract to be on minor league roster.
only eligible players qualify.
The first valid "PC" bid is the only valid bid. Each bid costs $500k signing bonus applied to cap.
Professional League ball players from Cuba (Serie Nacional), Japan (NPB), or Korea (KBO), are NOT CONSIDERED Prospects. Professional time in these leagues are MLB prospect disqualifiers. These players are to be bid on in FA as UFA.

RESIGN VALUE AAV
Player Contracts that are resigned will start the following season from 1yr extensions up to term limit extensions.
Extension values are based on the highest overall ranking of the last season or current season with accrued statistics and rankings. This is REGARDLESS of position & is always based on a two year window.
ONCE ANY NEW SEASON BEGINS FROM WEEK 1, A PLAYERS RESIGN IS THE HIGHEST RANKING INCLUDING CURRENT SEASON OR LAST SEASON PLAYED.
Only contracts in the last year are eligible to be extended. Contracts that expire have no off-season grace period. Expired contracts become Unrestricted FA.
*The deadline to resign expiring contracts is the end of the MLB LIVE Regular Season.

Free Agency
FA Starts: 3/1/Every Year 8PM EST
Important note*
Teams can only bid what they have available.

Open Roster spot required for any FA bid.
Finances must be available to back any bid or open bids in combination.

Any team with an illegal roster cannot make an eligible bid.

Every teams SS should be up to date. Please post any and all discrepancy between your fantrax and your SS.

24 hours as highest bidder wins the bid.

Eligible Players:
All players currently in the MLB not on an  MLB LIVE team.
[no college or HS players]

FA CONTRACT TERMS
5yr deal must be at least $10m AAV
4yr deal must be at least $5.5m AAV
3yr deal must be at least $1.1m AAV

You may never exceed the salary cap.
Moving of cap hits, funds, cash, any form of currency movement or manipulation is not allowed.
Bid Clock: 24 Hours
Minimum initial bid: $500K or PC
Minimum yearly salary: $500K
Minimum Bid Increment: $500K until $50M+ total. $5M when @ $50M+ total.
I.E.
$1M > $1.5M > $2M
$50M > $55M > $60M

Player Posting
To make it easier to search the board, post players in the following format.
Position - First Last - Team
Example:  OF - Bryce Harper - PHI
This will make the board look clean and organized.

After a bid is won.
The contract must be specified or the league will specify it after 24 hours.

Releasing Players Under Contract
All contracts are guaranteed, you may release a player at any time, however to simulate a stiff penalty, guaranteed salaries, the cap hits are only applied for 3 seasons for fantasy league purposes.
CAP HITS ARE APPLIED TO ANY CONTRACT AT OR OVER $1M ANNUAL @ the rate of 100%/75%/50% X X.
Year One 100% cap hit meaning you gain only the roster spot for release.
Year Two 75% cap hit meaning you retrieve 25% salary back.
Year Three 50% cap hit meaning you retrieve half the players salary back.
Year Four is voided for fantasy purposes.
Year Five is voided for fantasy purposes.
Signing a player to a long term deal is a major commitment in baseball.

Buyout Clauses of Guaranteed Contracts
A player can be bought out of 100% of his contract in the current year.
For example: Player X makes $9m $9m $9m = can be bought out for $27m X X avoiding extended cap hits.

Suspended players can be released at 100%/X X X X of current contract.
If a player is actively suspended for PED or off the field issues no matter the length of his contract you may release him, pay his salary out that year in full and void all remaining years free of penalties.

Retired Players = no cap hit to release any retired player
New Ownership = no cap hit to release inherited players.

Placing A Player On Injured List
[Will only gain a team roster spot on the active 40 Man Roster. Cap Salary still applies.]
*Players only qualify for IL when on the actual MLB IL. This will be a 5 player max MLB LIVE IL per team.

Winter Meetings are 12/1 @8PM Every Year! Roster Freeze is over and new league year begins.

MLB LIVE HAS A ROLLING $200M HARD-CAP PER EACH TEAM

Penalties
Are at the discretion of the league but may include expulsion.

Fantrax:
The league will fix & optimize rosters on fantrax when needed. Failure to maximize your own roster can lead to anything from cap penalties to replacing you as a GM.

The league wants you to run your teams operations. Every aspect. If we have to do it for you, we should both consider other options.
